8 Tips for Holiday Decorating

8 Tips for Holiday Decorating

With Christmas being right around the corner, holiday decorating is in full swing. So, in the spirit of the season, I’m sharing some tips on how to style your home for the holidays.

  1. In my opinion, holiday decor should always be cozy over trendy…none of that modern stick tree sh*t.

  2. It’s no secret that Christmas ornaments can be expensive. So, splurge on the special ones, and then hit up your local Dollar Store for all of your filler ornament needs.

  3. Have some of your ornaments seen better days? Don’t throw them away! You can reuse broken or damaged ornaments as decor in other ways (e.g. arrange them in a bowl, stack them in a vase, or use them to make a garland).

  4. You can use materials like ribbon or tulle to Christmas-ify everyday baskets, vases, etc.

  5. Take advantage of the after-Christmas sales and collect decorations for the next year.

  6. Use plants like poinsettias, mini lemon cypress trees, and berry branches as cute and easy holiday decor.

  7. Wrap presents as you get them. I promise it will make your life easier.

  8. Get yourself an extension cord with a footswitch, so that you’re not having to bend down and plug in your tree lights every day. Your back will thank me later.
